A NEW WINDOW OPENING TO WORLD OF DESIGN
"IMMIB INDUSTRIAL DESIGN COMPETITIONS"

IMMIB Industrial Design Competition is to be held third time in 2007.

The General Secretariat of Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB) comprising more than 26 thousand firms, is organizing IMMIB Industrial Design Competition, first of which was held in 2005, third time this year under cooperation with Industrial Designers Society of Turkey (ETMK), with purpose of securing Turkish exporters have strong place in world markets, where intensive competition is dominating, and with purpose of gaining new brand marks and new designs for our country.

Breaking record with 206 in 2005, in the first year the competition was held, and with 391 candidate projects in the previous year in the sense of number of participators, competitions have proved its importance that it secured in design and business world, despite its recent background. 35 projects in 2005 and 54 projects in 2006, total 89 projects have been awarded until nowadays in competitions, where famed designers, professionals of the Industrial Designers Society of Turkey, senior executives of sector establishments succeeding as brand marks of Turkey and world, and IMMIB authorized staff were present as members of the Selection Jury. 
 
To be held third time, IMMIB Industrial Design Competition will be held in 6 categories in total with professional and student sections, in sectors of Metal Kitchenware, Plastic Household and Kitchenware and Electrical-Electronic Small Household Appliances.

Various monetary rewards will be granted to projects to be placed in the competition and it is planned to accommodate project designers whose project takes first place, in activities like fairs, courses/seminars to be held abroad by IMMIB.

Being conscious of the important role of industrial design for development of products with high added values in sectors of our country, and increasing competitive power of these sectors geared to export, and most importantly for securing our sectors reach sustainable exportation target, IMMIB calls all our designers to participate in IMMIB Industrial Design Competitions.

Submission Date of Projects:   09th February 2007 Friday, till 05.00 p.m.
Award Ceremony:     21st March 2007 Wednesday**

* Electronic registration after 02nd February 2007 shall not be considered.
** Participators shall be noticed in case any change is made in the date of award ceremony.

Student Category

BRAND MARK AND DESIGN

Becoming a brand mark is one of important factors in competition. Reaching to higher profits is only possible with quality and becoming brand mark. Products of high added values and role of designing in production of these products can not be underestimated in becoming brand mark. Therefore, it will be difficult for firms, which do not carry out serious and systemized studies on design, and do not understand the importance of becoming brand mark in product marketing strategies, to survive.

In this framework, it is our wish that contribution to design and becoming brand marks, of Industrial Design Competitions to be held third time this year and held by us with purpose of meeting Turkish manufacturers with designers, explaining importance of designing, increasing competitive power of our products in international markets while contributing new products and viewpoints.
